In a world that seems to spin faster by the day, where social networking allows us to make friends with one another at the click of the mouse, we may be able to see what people have tagged or who they’ve ‘poked,’ but it can sometimes be difficult to really get to know someone and what they’re about. Feeling friendly, cutting to the chase, and learning something about current musical artists who represent the best of what they do, Buzzine has set a table and would like to introduce you to your Speed Date:
What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Vlad Holiday and I’m from your planet.
Where are you right now?
I’m in Peru visiting Machu Picchu. This interview is totally ruining my meditation.
Can we have a pic to see what you’re up to?

See attached.
If our moms were setting us up on a blind date, what 3 things would your mom tell my mom about you?
She would say I’m the most talented, handsome, and courteous boy in the whole world. Mothers...
Why are you answering these questions (what are you promoting)?
My band, Electric Sun, released our first piece of music entitled The Gilded Cage. It’s an EP recorded in Queens that came out Tuesday, November 15, 2011.
What 3 words best describe your musical style?
Loud, ethereal, and fuzzy.
What sentence best sums up your latest album?
A movement of sonic enlightenment, which will mean something drastically different to you after reading this answer.
What are you most proud of in your professional life?
Electric Sun is the first time I’ve written songs by myself, so perhaps my development as a songwriter. Though I might be more proud of my guitar playing. I’m lucky because it always came fairly easily to me, but more importantly, it was always welcoming and enticing, so I never wanted to put my instrument down.
What other music (apart from your own) are you listening to right now?
Some of my favorite bands that I have on repeat are Metric, The Kills, and The Kooks.
Who is your musical hero?
I have many heroes for different goals of my musical career. To name a few... Guitar-playing-wise, I’m a huge fan of Brian May, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons, etc. Songwriting-wise, I have to shake Paul McCartney’s hand before he or I leave this life.
When are you the happiest: recording in the studio or playing live on stage? Why?
The creation process is the main purpose of being in a rock band, but obviously I’ll have to go with playing live on stage. That inexplicable energy is why most musicians get into it. If anyone says otherwise, they’re putting on a boring live show. Feel it!
What has been your greatest ‘rock star’ moment so far?
This is a rather different one, but I got to play one of Jimi Hendrix’s 1960s Fender Strats in an NYC guitar shop. Definitely an out-of-body experience for me.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Biggest band in the world. I mean that.
What is your motto?
Chase the dream, not the competition.
Anything more to add?
I lied to you on that second question.
Where can online fans find out more about you?
Follow the band on our social media sites: Facebook or Twitter
