Fear not, ladies and gentlemen. Though Stockholm, Sweden's Teddybears may claim -- in "Rocket Science," from their sixth and latest album, Devil's Music -- that, "Them drum machines ain't got no soul," the men that operated them from within giant teddybear heads at the latest Check Yo' Ponytail party on Thursday, September 15, 2011 showed that they most assuredly have not just soul, but also balls, heart, and rock 'n' roll in oversize portions. Enough for everyone in a packed house at The Echoplex in Los Angeles, California. More than enough.
Perched atop a giant mirrorball bearhead console, Swedish Tiger (AKA Patrik Arve), Jocke (Joakim Åhlund), and Klas (Klas Åhlund) ripped through a set showcasing material across their 17-year career, but focused on newer material from Devil's Music and 2006's Soft Machine, inlcuding "Cardiac Arrest," "Cho Cha," "Punkrocker," and, of course, "Cobrastyle." Ever the prolific artists, they also played a couple of tracks from their brand new No More Michael Jackson EP for good measure...
