Gotye, the Australian band based around Belgian-born multi-instrumentalist Wally De Backer, made the their debut US live performance at The Satellite in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Gotye's new four-piece live band impressively blended live and electronic musical elements to win over the West Coast crowd and elicit that rarest of animals: a genuine, heartfelt, hand-clapping, foot stomping call for an encore from an LA crowd.
The sold-out Silver Lake gig-goers were also treated to a surprise guest appearance by New Zealand's Kimbra, who duetted with Wally on their breakthrough hit single, "Somebody That I Used To Know."
Gotye's new album, 'Making Mirrors,' is out now digitally in the US and will be released on CD this winter via Samples 'n' Seconds/Fairfax/Universal Republic Records.
