David Guetta made a special stop in Holllywood, California on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 to celebrate the US release of his new album, Nothing But The Beat. In addition to a red carpet premiere screening of the album's accompanying documentary at the Egyptian Theater, the landmark Capitol Records Tower was also specially illuminated to celebrate an album release for the very first time in its storied history.
The French-born superstar DJ/producer's new album features vocals from a virtual who's-who of today's global superstars, including Akon, Chris Brown, Dev, Flo Rida, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, Sia, Snoop Dog, Taio Cruz, Timbaland, Usher, and will.i.am. The album's first single, "Where Them Girls At," has already achieved gold sales status, racked up almost 50 million video views on VEVO, and built worldwide anticipation for the album's release to fever pitch.
Nothing But The Beat is the follow-up to Guetta’s 2009 worldwide breakthrough One Love, which has sold over three million albums and 12 million singles globally. One Love (and its re-release One More Love) earned Guetta back-to-back Best Remix Grammy Award wins for his remix of “When Love Takes Over” (featuring Kelly Rowland) and his David Guetta vs. Madonna remix of the queen of pop’s “Revolver.” Guetta now has more than 23 million fans on Facebook, over 1.6 million followers on Twitter, and recently eclipsed the half-billion total views milestone on YouTube/VEVO, making him one of the most watched people on the planet.
At The Egyptian Theater event, the jetsetting man of the hour flew in to join friends including Flo Rida, Kimberly Cole, will.i.am, and apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas (for whom Guetta produced the unstoppable "I Gotta Feeling") at the screening presented by Arjan of ArjanWrites.com which was filled to capacity by Guetta's LA fans. Post-screening, David fielded questions from the audience and summed up his thoughts about the new record: "There's no filler in this album. I'm going back to my roots and showing a different side of myself with it..."
David Guetta's 'Nothing But The Beat' is out now on Capitol Records.
